QUEEN CHARLOTTE WALK TRACKS
The first and last days of this spectacular walk through the network of waterways that make up the pristine and beautiful Marlborough Sounds make great day walks. The track is classified as a walking track; it is wide and well formed.
Accessed by water taxi historic Ship Cove is the starting point for one walk. Climbing through largely unmodified native forest you get grand views to the inner and outer Sounds. After you drop into Resolution Bay you follow and old bridle path to Endeavour Inlet and reach Furneaux Lodge for your water taxi pick up for Picton and then your return to the vineyard. Total walking time for the 15kms is approximately five hours.
At the opposite end of the Queen Charlotte Track is a four hour, 12.5 km walk between Anakiwa and Mistletoe Bay. You will walk being through mature beech forest and then follow the lush coastal forest dipping down to wonderful bays and swimming areas before reaching the picturesque Mistletoe Bay. It is an area steeped in history with abundant vegetation and bird life providing unsurpassed views of Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds.
